Native to a wide stretch of the Mediterranean, this is the hardiest of the commonly cultivated cyclamen species. We saw our first flowers in the autumn of their second year of life - simple elegance in pink, on a naked stalk (no leaves this time of year).

Seed-starting details for this plant

  1. Seed from '05 trade. Pot 70F (25+%G, 30-38d)
  2. Same seed as above. Soak 1d, baggy 70F (80%G, 12-30d)

Forms bulblets quickly after germinating, leaves take longer to develop - hence the difference in apparent germination time between the pot-sown ones of 2006 (time is for emergence of leaves) and the baggy-sown ones of 2007 (time is for emergence of radicles).
