Cushion-forming plant native to rocky slopes in Japan. The oblong leaves are larger than those of the typical tiny cushion-drabas. Our second attempt at overwintering seedlings yielded exactly one survivor – the one I had planted in a hypertufa trough, protected from winter wet. The ones out in the garden perished both years.
