Common name leather wood fern Family dryopteridaceae Life cycle evergreen fern (Z4-8) Size 12-24" Light part-full shade Clump-forming fern native to the Eastern United States, with a reputation for toughness. So far, I've admired their curled-up new fronds, emerging in late April.
