Synonym(s) Polygonum cuspidatum Common name Japanese knotweed Family polygonaceae Life cycle perennial (Z4-8) Flowers white (late summer-early fall) Size 2-4' Light sun-part shade Bought this labeled simply 'Fallopia', so the exact identification is tentative. Looks to be yet another pretty member of the knotweed family. This one is well-behaved - I haven't seen any self-seeding or spreading by roots. It's late to return in spring, so it helps to mark its location.
