Started from seed in late winter, these plants grew to a nice size by late season (but they didn't bloom). The photo here shows how the leaves turn shades of purple by mid-September.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.

Seed-starting details for this plant

  1. Seed from '09 garden. Baggy 70F (good G, 12-18d)

Seedlings are weak. Best to leave them in baggy until seed leaves develop before planting in soil.
