Just after planting Synonym(s) Magnolia kobus var. loebneri Common name pink star magnolia Family magnoliaceae Life cycle shrub/tree (Z5-9) Flowers white-purple (April) Size 15-20' Light Hybrid between M. kobus and M. stellata 'Rosea'. Blooms already as a small shrub. Slow-growing to 15', or taller as a tree. We couldn't resist it when we saw it in full bloom during an early-April nursery visit.
