Pinus leucodermis

Synonym(s) Pinus nigra var. leucodermis
Common name Bosnian pine
Family pinaceae
Life cycle tree (Z6-8)
Size 20'
Light sun
Cultural notes drought-tolerant once established

Slow-growing pine with upright pyramidal habit and needles in tight upright bundles. Its overall look is more open than the yews and spruces we grow near it, which adds a welcome diversity to our foundation plantings. We planted it in what we originally called our "pine bed". Right now, it's the only pine remaining there, and doing nicely. It even tolerates the Christmas lights we drape over it for about a month out of the year...

In our garden, this plant grows in the following area: the lane
