Plumbago capensis

Plumbago capensis

Common name plumbago
Family plumbaginaceae
Life cycle perennial
Flowers soft blue (summer-fall)
Size 24-36"
Light sun-part shade
Cultural notes ordinary garden soil, not too dry; heat-tolerant

Clusters of five-petaled phlox-like flowers on a woody perennial/shrub. The specimen in the photo at right was just planted – I'm expecting it to bush out as it gathers steam in the garden.

In our garden, this plant grows in the following area: houston back yard
