Common name rhubarb Family polygonaceae Life cycle perennial Size to 3' Light sun-part shade Rhubarb accompanies asparagus in the corner of our vegetable garden assigned to perennial vegetables. For some reason, our plant, which has been around for quite a number of years, has never been happy enough to get huge, although we've had a few harvests through the years.
