Saponaria ocymoides |
 |
| | Young specimen in our rock garden |
Even though it sporadically reseeds, I lost my original crop somehow (perhaps to drainage problems in a wet winter), and missed its mounds of flowers late Spring in my 2003 garden. So I traded for new seed, and am looking forward to re-establishing this charming sprawler in my garden. Then I found one remaining plant on our berm (a free-for-all of out-of-control plants and shrubs), so I hadn't lost them all after all. But I don't mind having a few more!
