Synonym(s) Strobilanthes urticifolia Family acanthaceae Life cycle Flowers dark blue/purple (summer-fall) Size 12" Light shade From seed Flowers first year from seed sown indoors early. detailed seed-starting info below Native to Nepal. Grows more wide than tall. Most strobilanthes species are tender, not sure if this one will prove hardy in our garden. In any case, our seedlings offered blooms their first year, so at least I have enjoyed their performance, even if they're tender in our climate.
