Common name fragrant snowbell
Family styracaceae
Life cycle tree
Light
From seed Give several weeks warm treatment, 2-3 months cold treatment, then germinate at room temperature.
detailed seed-starting info below

I grew this once from seed in 2001 and 2004 - in both cases, the saplings made it through their first winter; the first batch perished in the following summer of drought, while the second batch succumbed to unknown circumstances after a couple of winters, while still in the nursery area. I recently tried again, and hope to finally master the growing conditions that will allow us to permanently establish this elegant little tree in our garden.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
