Silene orientalis
campion
Common name campion
Family caryophyllaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z4-8)
Flowers pink
Light sun
From seed germinate at room temperature
detailed seed-starting info below

This one is supposedly perennial. So far, as second-year plants, they support their spherical clusters of deep pink flowers on spindly stems; not exactly a strong presence in the garden. I hope that they will assert themselves more strongly in years to come.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
