Native to mountain meadows in Greece and Bulgaria. It forms a mat of glossy green, fine-textured leaves, with tubular lilac flowers held above in summer.

Seed-starting details for this plant

  1. Seed from NARGS '08/'09 exchange. Baggy 70F (45 out of many seeds germinated, 5-10d). Seedlings grow slowly from a very tiny start.
