I received seed for this in a trade; some of the resulting plants are speckle-less white (which is, I believe, characteristic of 'Shirohotogisu'), while others are speckled purple. The white ones haven't thus far grown as tall as the purple ones (about 12" vs. about 18"), but the foliage is quite similar. The purple ones grow a bit taller than our T. macropoda, but the flowers look the same.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.

2005. Seed from '04 trade. Baggy 70F (4w; 5%G, 18-21d) - 35F (4w) - 70F (16%G, 7-21d)
2006. Same seed as above. Baggy 70F (62%G, 13-22d)

Somehow, did better the second year. Go figure.
