This fern is native to Florida and the Caribbean. Online photos of this species vary quite a bit in appearance, but ours resembles the ones from US web sources. We bought ours as a pond marginal and planted it along the streamside of our waterfall pond, which is consistent with its marshy native habitat, but it apparently also grows in regular garden soil.
