Small species found only in the mountains of central Arizona, forming tight rosettes of narrow, very spiny dark green leaves highlighted in white. Multiplies by offsets, and eventually sends up flower stalks to set seed (after which the mother plant dies off). Requires excellent drainage to succeed.
