Succulent native to South Africa's western Cape. Tooth-margined leaves curve upwards from a central point on young plants, while older ones develop a stem supporting several such clusters. Older leaves turn purplish. Sturdy stems holding spikes of attractive red flowers arrive in mid-winter.

We're just trying this plant for the first time this year; it
hasn't found a permanent place in our gardens yet.
