The species name means "rock-loving", so I planted this little anemone close to a rock. It seems to be happy enough. But my plant is upright with the flower on a sturdy stem well above the basal foliage, whereas other photos of the species I've found show flowers held more closely to a mound of leaves. So once again, I may have something different on my hands than what was advertised on the seed package. Oh well, such is the lot of a seed-starting gardener.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. About my plant portraits
