Arisaema griffithii

Common name Griffith's cobra lily
Family araceae
Life cycle perennial (Z6-10)
Flowers maroon
Cultural notes prefers cool conditions, moist soil

Curved dark, prominently veined flowers. Native to Himalayan forests at high altitude – it may be difficult to provide it conditions in which to thrive in our mid-Atlantic garden. First attempt unsuccessful: seedlings died while still in the pot waiting to be set in the nursery area.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
