Common name alpine aster Family asteraceae Life cycle perennial (Z2-9) Flowers pink (late spring-summer) Size 6-12" Light sun-part shade From seed germinate at room temperature detailed seed-starting info below Ha! This one appears to have escaped the taxonomical onslaught on asters, and has been spared renaming to Symphyotrichum or Eurybia! It's a little aster with nice pink flowers, just right for the rock garden. We grew it many years ago, and are now re-establishing it from seed.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
