I hope this one grows to maturity faster than its close non-dwarf relative, B. australis, which has yet to grow to any useful size in the five or so years it's been in our garden. This (sub)species grows somewhat smaller and more compact. Bring 'm on!

- Seed from '05 trade. Poured boiling water over seeds, then soaked for 3d; seeds did not noticeably swell. Baggy 70F (15d) - 75F (several germinated, 17-22d)
- Same seed as above. Sandpapered, baggy 75F. After 5d, none had swollen - sandpapered more severely - back to baggy 75F (10w; 20%G, 26-36d). Most seeds swelled, but failed to sprout
