detailed seed-starting info below

For an East African native (it hails from the mountains of Ethiopia) this is surprisingly hardy - it has survived four winters in our zone 6 garden. It is a small bellflower with fairly typical flared-out blue flowers with prominent white hairs (rigidipila means "stiff-haired"). The foliage is distinct from other campanulas in our garden, although not unlike that of other small campanulas such a C. carpatica. The flowers appear on erect stems, a few more every year as the plants mature.

In our garden, this plant grows in the following area: rock garden
