Campanula takesimana

Campanula takesimana
Korean bellflower
Campanula takesimana

Common name Korean bellflower
Family campanulaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z5-8)
Flowers pink to white flowers, spotted maroon, all summer
Size 2' tall and wide
Light sun-shade
Cultural notes rich soil, average moisture
From seed germinates at room temperature. slow to develop.

Given the right conditions (rich, moist soil), this is a vigorous spreader, and may need to be contained. Average Lehigh Valley summer garden conditions manage to keep it in check, though. Attractive glossy foliage, lots of flowers.

Korean bellflower
Pointed dark-green leaves

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
