Lower-growing perennial cousin of the bachelor's button, with intricate electric-blue flowers in May. Drought-tolerant. We've always loved the plain species, and are delighted to try a new cultivar, Amethyst in Snow with white petals springing forth from a deep purple center, courtesy of a generous garden friend.
