I'm glad this performs well as an annual, since it stands no chance of surviving winter here. I liked the buds, which had a rosy cast before they opened to blue-purple fluffy flowers. the bluish-green leaves, prominently veined and serrated, are nice too.

Brazilian buttons

Several years after last growing Brazilian buttons on purpose, this plants suddenly volunteered in our rock garden – far from the curve garden where I had grown them before. Go figure.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...

Exposure to light apparently not necessary. Fairly long-lived seed.
