Wildflower sporting four-petaled yellow poppy flowers and soft-textured, scalloped foliage on hairy stems. We grow it in a few less tamed areas of our garden, to very nice effect. It does seed itself around a good bit, but isn't difficult to remove where it is not wanted. First flowers in early May of its second year. Ours came from seed labeled 'Flore Pleno', and sure enough, the flowers are double. And they come true as doubles through many generations.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. About my plant portraits
