Clarkia tenella

Clarkia tenella
godetia
Common name godetia
Family onagraceae
Life cycle annual
Flowers blue (summer)
Size 18-24"

Most online photos of this species from Argentina show lavender-blue flowers, but ours came out with burgundy buttercup-shaped flowers. The plants stay low and spread a bit, but like other clarkias they don't stick around long in the garden: all of a sudden in summer, they're just gone.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
