Colchicum 'Waterlily' and 'Giant'
Spring growth of 'Waterlily'

Common name autumn crocus
Family colchicaceae
Life cycle perennial bulb
Flowers pink (fall)
Size 8"
Light sun
Cultural notes ordinary garden soil

Broad foliage emerges in spring, and disappears in summer. The pink flowers appear by themselves, without leaves, in early fall. 'Waterlily', a large double hybrid, is usually the first of our colchicums to bloom, starting in early September and continuing into October. 'Giant', a smaller, rosier cup-shaped hybrid, is not far behind.

I lost track of what this pretty one is called

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.

One or more images of this plant are included in my stock photo catalog
