Broad foliage emerges in spring, and disappears in summer. The pink flowers appear by themselves, without leaves, in early fall. This year (2004), 'Waterlily', a large double hybrid, was the first of our colchicums to bloom, starting in early September and continuing into October. 'Giant', a smaller, rosier cup-shaped hybrid, was not far behind.
