Conanthera campanulata

Family tecophilaeaceae
Life cycle tender perennial bulb
Flowers purple (summer)
Light sun

Chilean flowering bulb. Needs well-drained soil, adequate moisture during the growth season, but dry conditions during the late summer-fall dormancy period. Perhaps I'll manage to grow my seedlings on for long enough in pots to see them flower, but given my track record with such pursuits, I'm not too hopeful.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...

Seed-starting details for this plant

  1. Seed from '13 trade. Baggy 70F (4w; 13%G, 19d) - 35F (6w) - 70F (80%G, 3d)

Not sure if the cold helped, or if the slow-germinating seeds just needed more time. An online source suggests stratifying for two weeks.
