Lower-growing coreopsis. The ray flowers start as eight tubes, distinctly arranged around the central disc, but then open up flat, to make a more traditionally shaped flat coreopsis daisy. Supposedly spreads slowly to form a mat and suitable as a front-of-border groundcover. That would suit us just fine.
