Species with wide pleated leaves and orange-red flowers held on nodding stems. It has contributed to some of the popularly grown crocosmia hybrids, but is reportedly lovely in its unaltered form. Native to the eastern Cape of South Africa, where it is rare in the wild. Needs regular moisture through its pre-bloom and blooming stage.
