Cyclanthera pedata |
 |
Vegetable in the cucumber family, supposedly with many beneficial nutritional values when eaten in a salad or steamed. For me, the attraction is more the oddball nature of the plant: I'd like to see its exploding habit, where the ripe fruits turn themselves inside out, thereby propelling their odd-shaped seeds. Hopefully I'll catch it in action sometime this year.
