Chinese species of perennial larkspur. Flowers are a vivid blue and hairy (especially obvious on the buds), with prominent bees. The whole flower looks like Dr. Seuss might have designed it, especially the crumply-curvy back end. Each is attached to the flower stem in alternating fashion; the overall effect packs a visual punch. Growth habit is upright, about mid-way in height between the taller hybrids and dwarf varieties.
