Delphinium grandiflorum 'Blue Butterfly'
Short-lived perennial with frilly leaves, and deep blue flowers on wiry stems. We grew this way back in the earliest days of our perennial garden, where it lasted a few years before disappearing. I was glad to re-establish it from seed, and even happier to see it blooming already in late May, just months after the seeds sprouted. I'll have to remember to collect seed, to avoid losing it once again.
|| Flowers first year from seed sown indoors early.
