Deuterocohnia longipetala

Family bromeliaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z9b-11)
Flowers yellow
Size 3-4'
Light sun
Cultural notes drought-tolerant

Succulent bromeliad, similar in appearance to Dyckia, forming a rosette of shiny, toothed, strappy leaves. Should eventually grow to a substantial size, but it doesn't look like it will be hardy here in Houston.

We're just trying this plant for the first time this year; it hasn't found a permanent place in our gardens yet. (click here for a full list)
