Digitalis fontanesii |
 |
Online sources say this is similar to D. grandiflora. Ours doesn't much resemble its yellower friends, having more of a reddish coloration - halfway towards D. mertonensis, but with quite different, slender-pointy leaves. Ours bloomed for a long time; first along its main stalk, and when that was done on secondary flowering stems shooting outward from the upright. The photo at right was taken in late September, when the final flowers were about to fade away.
