Native to the western United States, from the California deserts into the Rockies. Supposedly makes a good groundcover, evergreen where winters are mild, but I'm not sure yet where in my subtropical garden it will be happiest (if in fact it lives through our wet winters). If I find a place for it to thrive, I look forward to the butterflies and hummingbirds it will attract.
