Epimedium grandiflorum 'Lilafee'

Epimedium grandiflorum 'Lilafee'
lilac fairy barrenwort
Fall color in early November

Common name lilac fairy barrenwort
Family berberidaceae
Life cycle perennial
Flowers lavender (spring)
Size 10-12"
Light part-full shade

We've added several epimediums to our garden in recent years. This one features lavender flowers and leaves that get coppery-red-tinged when weather is cool.

Epimedium grandiflorum 'Lilafee'
Late April - flowers about ready to burst open, while the leaves are still in their early-season dark stage.

As the species name suggests, the flowers really are nice and big

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
