Grown from seed labeled Erodium pelargoniflorum, I think its true identity is E. trifolium (a.k.a. E. pelargonifolium). It bloomed readily in its first season from seed, and indeed its leaves resemble those of pelargoniums. Not so sure it will turn out hardy in our garden. Supposedly suitable for rock gardens.

According to Richard Clifton of the Geraniaceae Group this is a very common error. However I had more seed from their seed exchange this year and it turned out the same so I am still looking for true E. pelargoniflorum. So far 1 of my 5 2006 plants has survived here in Anglesey [mild & damp but with occasional frosts - -7°C this year] |
