Cold-hardy barrel cactus. We tried to grow this from seed one year, and managed to grow teeny cacti indoors - but they didn't survive outside in Pennsylvania. Trying again in Houston.

We're just trying this plant for the first time this year; it
hasn't found a permanent place in our gardens yet.

Germinated seedlings are quick to rot, even in radicle stage.
