Eupatorium maculatum 'Purple bush'
This plant is new to our garden, and hasn't reached its full potential yet. It is supposed to have a fuller, more compact growth habit than the species. So far, it has stayed at 2'.
||spotted Joe-Pye weed
||purple (mid-late summer)
||average to moist garden soil
||Low germination rate for me - best results so far at room temperature, with exposure to light. But it does self-seed in the garden.
Flowers first year from seed sown indoors early.

|Although the display isn't impressive, it bloomed tentatively for us in its first year. |
This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away...
