Large, impressive clusters of mauve flowers are borne on tall upright plants. A U.S. native, this works well at the back of the border, for example in butterfly gardens. It is among the last perennials to re-appear in spring, so we mark its locations carefully so as to not lose track of it.

This plant used to grow in our garden, but it slipped away... About my plant portraits

Mine blooms late in the season when there isn't much else blooming. Loved by butterflies and bees. Woould highly recommend finding a spot for this in your garden. |
