Fragaria 'Lipstick' |
 |
Common name |
Alpine strawberry |
Life cycle |
perennial |
Flowers |
deep pink (spring-summer) |
Size |
4" |
Light |
full sun-part shade |
Cultural notes |
not fussy |
Grow for flowers (tiny fruit). Will send out runners and multiply, but not invasive. We have let it ramble through our driveway bed for many years now. It brings just a little splash of color surrounded by glossy bright green leaves in unexpected places, yet is easy to pull up from places where it is less welcome.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. About my plant portraits
