The purple foliage on these cranesbills nicely offsets their blue flowers. I picked 'Okey Dokey' up at the Hardy Plant Society's spring plant sale one year, and enjoyed it for two full seasons. Unfortunately, it did not return for a third. More recently, I grew a single plant from seed from 'Victor Reiter Jr.'. I'm sure our plant is not as deeply purple as the true cultivar, but it's still cool.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston. Read about all the cranesbills in our garden on my geraniums page About my plant portraits

He has several varieties of Geranium in the garden and reckons he may have a 'Sport' as this does not resemble any of his existing varieties but it does resembles aspects of his plants. He gave me a small seedling last Summer and i grew it on in a 3litre pot through last year and into the winter. It came through the harsh winter where i live in Nottinghamshire without a problem and now it is in a 7.5 litre pot and about to flower. I don't know what colour flower it will have yet but the habit is the most interesting thing as it is very upright and sturdy and totally at home in a pot. I wonder whether it is a new variety or whether you may know of a similar plant?

Margaret | Jul 18, 2010 | I bought my Okey Dokey at a plant sale and it is a lovely shade of purple and it has double in size over the past 2 years. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can split this plant to share with my friends or move in other parts of my garden? |
