Plant purchased from Peckerwood garden's nursery area without any further information. The species is an upright-growing plant, while the more commonly cultivated plant is a hybrid named 'Purple Passion'. I'll never know exactly what we had on our hands, because the plant didn't last long once hot weather arrived. On my next visit to Peckerwood, I noticed that the nursery label now says it needs shade, which is not what I provided.
