Family caryophyllaceae
Life cycle perennial
Flowers pink
Size 4"
Light sun

Although there are a good number of references to this species online, it is not recognized by any of my standard taxonomical resources, so I'm not sure what the true species name is. I did finally get a plant to overwinter and flower, so I can share photos of its cheery light-pink flowers over linear gray-green leaves. I'll figure out what to call it eventually...

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
