Life cycle perennial
Flowers red/yellow (summer)
Size 2'

The early summer garden is the territory of daylilies. Our earliest daylily is 'Rosie Meyer', blooming by mid-June in red and yellow tones that Van Gogh would have chosen. It is probably my favorite one in our gardens.

The next one is 'Kwanso', a very vigorous multi-toned orange one that wants to claim ever more space next to our front door.

'Luxury Lace' has somewhat smaller blooms in soft pink and cream shades. Web references for this one show a number of different color combos, but this is what is was named when we bought it.

'Chicago Princess' also starts blooming in early July, purple with a delightful metallic sheen.

We don't know what this one is called - it also starts in early July.

This one (name unknown) has thick yellow petals, and blooms in early July

'Frans Hals' is the latest to start blooming, in mid-July.

'Pardon Me' is known as a rebloomer, but its habit in our garden isn't clear yet - it failed to bloom at all for almost two years after entering our garden, and only started to bloom in mid-July when it finally did. A smaller-growing type.

In our garden, this plant grows in the following areas: driveway bed, back yard island, side garden, front perennial border, the lane, big pond, orchard nursery area, sale plot
