Hemerocallis lilioasphodelus

Synonym(s) Hemerocallis flava
Common name night-blooming daylily
Family hemerocallidaceae
Life cycle perennial (Z4-9)
Flowers lemon yellow (late spring-early summer)
Size 36"
Light sun-part shade

Species daylily from China, with fragrant lemon-yellow flowers. I hope I'll catch them in bloom - they open in the evening, and close early the next morning.

We left this plant behind in our Pennsylvania garden (and wish it well); we don't grow it in Houston.
